Plan to Make 2011 Your Best Year Ever!
As 2010 comes to a close, it is a great time to plan for 2011 if you haven’t done so already. What will it take to make it the best year ever? I have found that it starts with a decision and a plan to make it that way. Here are 5 ways to make 2011 your best year ever!
#1: Make the Decision
I have learned from many mentors in my life and one of the biggest lessons for me was to start with making a DECISION on what I wanted. It seems so simple but many great lessons really are simple…although I didn’t say it would be easy.
So make the decision first, that 2011 WILL be your best year ever.
#2: What does your best year look like?
Now that you have made the decision, what does that look like for you? Ask yourself some powerful questions and get the gift of clarity along with what the universe can support you with…
What does your business look like? How many clients will you have? How much money are you making? What does your lifestyle look like? How is your health? Will you stretch yourself and do something outside your comfort zone? How about that book or info product that you wanted to create? Or the program you want to offer? What else calls you?
The goal is to gain a clear vision of living your life to its fullest.
#3: Do things differently
There is saying that says, “You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it”…I hope I got that right. Be willing to do things a little differently this year. What would the new you…who set the intention to have the best year ever do? Honor your new decision to create what you want this year and accept no excuses.
Make a plan for each of the areas in your “best year” vision. Break them down and create simple action steps and plug them into your calendar.
#4: Make a Plan
Now that you are clear about what it looks like to have your best year ever, build the plan to support it. I use a year at a glance calendar and plug in programs, projects, trips, vacations, seminars, etc. for the whole year. I visually look at it and can see if there is room for more OR if I need to cut some things out. When you plan your vision, and work your plan…you can really see great things begin to unfold.
#5: Get Support
This is big one. I used to think that I had to do everything myself and that my success was all up to me…part of that is true but I also learned the power of partnership and that it doesn’t have to be so hard.
In creating your big goals, I urge you to get support through a mentor, mastermind group or training program and learn from others. It doesn’t have to take you years to figure things out on your own…not to mention the frustration of not making the money that you could be during that time. Take advantage of others’ knowledge and expertise to step up and stretch yourself.
This year I will be investing more than I have ever allowed myself to, into a year-long program because I understand that I need help to stretch myself even further.
Another area to get support is in building a team in your business. If you are a solo-preneur, begin by hiring a Virtual Assistant or better yet a Virtual Business Manager that can support your business growth. If you’ve already done that, congratulations…I bet you are really enjoying the extra time doing what you are best at.
Please share your comments. Do you have any more tips to add to this list? What will you be doing to make this your best year?
